Mobility.Pioneers week is finally here! The second edition of this industry-focused event will once again serve as the ultimate meeting point for tech innovators in the mobility space. This Thursday in Munich, the world’s biggest OEMs, manufacturers and mobility providers will meet the most promising early- and growth-stage startups working on truly game changing technologies. The over 300 attendees will also include selected investors and international media.

The Mobility.Pioneers schedule will tackle five broad topics that are key to driving the industry forward. These are automation, connectivity, shared use, electrification and the changing landscape around regulation and business models.

Blockchain, Cyber Security and regulation will be three themes to get particularly close attention across a number of stage sessions during the day. A key Blockchain session will be IOTA Chairman Dominik Schiener demonstrating live just how this new technology can enable a truly shared economy, while our concurrent Mobility Hackathon will also focus on Blockchain.

Meanwhile Assaf Harel’s stage demonstration of Karamba Security’s technology and a panel discussion featuring Trillium Secure’s CEO David Uze will be among the sessions exploring Cyber Security.

On the regulation front, former UK government new mobility services regulator Lucy Yu and flying car entrepreneur Juraj Vaculik (of AeroMobil fame) will take part in a panel discussion around developing new regulatory frameworks.

Electric supercar innovator Mate Rimac, whose company Rimac Automobili developed the Rimac Concept_One, is also guaranteed to be a popular stage highlight.

As usual at our events, the room will be heaving with innovators from the startups scene. 20 of the 100+ entrepreneurs attending Mobility.Pioneers have also been selected to pitch or exhibit their innovations, with the final winner of the pitch competition getting fast-tracked into a Pioneers Challenge pitching slot at Pioneers’18, our flagship annual event in which 2,500 tech innovators from around the world gather at the Hofburg in Vienna. This takes place on May 24-25.

The startup competition, which will run in four separate tracks before the finalists emerge for a final round on the big stage, will be judged by expert corporate investors and venture capitalists. You can learn their names here.

As part of the expansion of Mobility.Pioneers in this second year of the event, we’re also running an invite-only side event and workshop dedicated to Series A startups. The latter will include a focus on raising Series B funding and mutually beneficial collaboration models.

Meanwhile our consultancy arm Pioneers Discover will also be busy in Munich, organizing the Mobility Hackathon that runs in parallel with the event this week.
