Pioneers Discover is inviting single developers and students, as well as startups, to answer any of our partners’ challenges during 48 hours of problem-solving. We’re looking for those well-acquainted with big data, remote maintenance, predictive analytics, machine learning, big data, VR/AR/MR, HoloLens, wearables, sensors and communication tools including conversational and natural interfaces.
Startups, students and developers selected for the Industry 4.0 Hackathon will have the unique chance to meet with the top management of some leading international industrial companies, as well as to win tickets to Pioneers’18 in Vienna on May 24-25 next year.
Wienerberger, the world’s largest producer of bricks and leader of the clay roof tiles market in Europe, is asking the hand-picked innovators to come up with virtual assistance and intelligent support solutions for machine maintenance.
Meanwhile Fronius, which is a global industry leader in the fields of welding technology, photovoltaics and battery charging tech, is putting out a challenge for the bright minds contesting the hackathon to prototype need-based virtual assistance systems for commissioning, operation and maintenance of their systems. These could will need to work with existing backend systems such as PLM, CRM and ERP.
And as previously announced, international automation solutions company KEBA will ask participants to help in its quest to build an online community to support technology users. They’re looking for solutions that could include an intelligent database and use smart interface technologies and tools.
While some participants are already on board for the event at Tabakfabrik, applications for the Industry 4.0 Hackathon are still open until October 22. Application is via the Pioneers Discover Open Calls page.
Even more pressing is the October 15 deadline for startups to apply to Pioneers Discover to be selected for for Booking.com Booster Labs. These are weekend programs to boost early-stage sustainable tourism startups, who could also win funding up to €25,000. the first Booster Lab takes place in Barcelona on December 1-3, and interested startups can apply here.
Time is also running out to get a foot in the door for another project we’re running with Wienerberger, namely the Wienerberger Innovation Day, which takes place in Vienna on January 25 next year.
