Johannes Schildt, founder of video doctor appointment platform KRY, will deliver a keynote talk on digital transformation in health care. Schildt’s company has redefined the notion of ‘going to the doctor’ by providing primary health care consultations via video in more than 20 languages. It’s the only app-based service of its kind in Sweden that has been certified with the CE (Conformité Européene) health and safety standard, and leads the market there.
The KRY app offers patients online appointments of up to 15 minutes, allowing them to skip the long and unhealthy waits that dog most medical practices. Another convenience is that doctors are available until as late as midnight. KRY also arranges home delivery of medication, issuing sick notes and the paperwork involved in a referral to an offline specialist.
All of the KRY doctors carry a Swedish medical licence, and while basic consultations cost a reasonable 25 Euros, these are free for patients under 20 or over 85. Payment, appointment requests – both ‘drop-in’ and scheduled are available – and the video call itself are all handled within the KRY app.
KRY already has a substantial user base of over 100 000 and recently raised $22.6 million in its Series A round, which was led by Accel. Creandum. Index Ventures also invested in the highly promising company.
