Bringing Cisco’s EIR program to Europe

Pioneers Discover supported Cisco in bringing its EIR program to the EMEAR region. We evaluated and selected startups that could help Cisco keep innovating in its field.

The Challenge

Global IT company Cisco wanted to bring its Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program to the EMEAR region in 2014. They wanted to expand the search for companies building game-changing products in Cisco’s strategic areas. Cisco wanted to offer selected startups financial support, resources and partnership opportunities.

What was the role of Pioneers Discover?

Pioneers Discover supported all aspects of bringing the program beyond the USA. This included identifying Cisco’s most relevant startups, evaluating them and integrating the Cisco EIR program into the Pioneers Festival. We took charge of all the communication and execution, completing the project in just a few weeks.

How did Cisco benefit?

After Pioneers Discover managed 350 applications from 46 countries and 38 different industries, six selected startups began working in partnerships with Cisco. After repeating the program with us in 2015, Cisco had achieved their goal of multiple partnerships and remarkable growth in their innovation culture worldwide.

“We fuelled our ‚Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence‘ Challenge in Europe with the support of Pioneers and gained traction quickly because they were able to translate our requirements into the right sourcing targets. Essential for the success was also their guidance and expectation setting as well as the flexibility they showed in our ambitious project.”
