What is the program about?

BBVA Open Talent program is the world’s biggest fintech startup competition. BBVA’s goal is to find the most innovative technology solutions and drive them forward, working together to shine a light on emerging projects capable of transforming the financial sector. Through collaboration, BBVA aims to create opportunities for the talent of now and of the future.




Why participate?

Out of all startups, three finalists will be chosen to compete for the grand prize of 100,000€ in October in the global finals in Madrid. Furthermore, several countries (among them Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Turkey, Uruguay and U.S.A) will host national challenge and winners of these challenges will also go to Madrid to present their solutions. All country winners + finalists will also be able to participate in a 3-days acceleration program and get access to mentoring and online courses performed by BBVA.

Who should participate?

BBVA is looking for early stage FinTech companies with the following criteria (Legally incorporated 1st January 2016) required to apply:

Process in 5 steps



Registration

All startups need to register online on the BBVA Open Talent website until 5th of July.

Annoucement of finalists

The national finalists and three global finalists will be announced on the 12th of August on the BBVA Open Talent website.

National Finalists

The finalists for each country will present their projects in a national competition.

Global Final

National winners and the three global finalists will be invited to BBVA Open Summit. Each team will present its project and the three global finalists will compete for the grand prize.

Immersion program

The global finalists will receive three days of mentoring with BBVA experts in Madrid. They will be granted an access to an online acceleration programme and receive support from a BBVA mentor for six weeks.
